Its Getting Hot!

ΓΕΙΑ!!

Well it has been yet another excited week. I had a rushed morning so I left my planner at home so please forgive me for not remembered exactly what happened this week. 

So I am sorry it is a short one. I will just give some highlights from the week:

So one day we were doing some service in a park and I started talking to a women. She just loved every words I told her we talked about all of the differences that we have in our church and why it is so special. Then in the end she even took a Book of Mormon and said when she wasn't working she would love to learn how to become a member of our church. It was a cool experience.

We also met with Brother Matrapazees and it went so good. He said Elders I wants to change and he wants to quite smoking for good. He asked me for a blessing and I was able to give my first Greek blessing. Every time it is so cool to see how much God loves each and every one of us. 

We also met with Brother Todi. It went well. On the way home my bike broke. The bearings in the back tire busted and so the next day we had to walk it to the bike shop. I picked up my new ride for a couple of days. I got a nice sisters bike ha ha. We rode our long ride out to see Telemachus and lets just say it was an interesting meeting. He is struggling to accept the Book of Mormon but he has potential.

We also met with Fortune, the less active member from Africa, again this week. It went really really well. It is a real example of how God really changes lives. He is really taking a turn for the better!

We also met with Sakis, who is moving on Monday, but we will be doing skype lessons! He is really committed and honest it is cool. He also came to church the next day where I also did translation. Man that is ruff but in a couple weeks it is my job so I got to get on it.

ΓΕΙΑ ΣΑΣ!!!

Well it was yet another great week full of fun adventures so I will get started.

Tuesday we had a busy day of some good ole member work. We did finding and service in the morning. Then we headed over the visit Brother Matrapazees. He is such a good man that struggles a lot with smoking. I love him so much. It was interesting he just sat there and cried and told us he wants to do good. We told him he can and then by the time we left he was laughing and having a good time it was good. After that we headed over to Brother Todi's to get some information from him before he left for Germany for a temple trip on Wednesday. In the evening we had a surprise party for a less active member family. It went well they certainly enjoyed it.

Wednesday, we met up with a less active member from Africa. It was really cool cause he has a real desire to change and come back. I am excited that we will be able to help him out. We also had a skype meeting with the Zone Leaders in Athens to get all the information from their leadership meeting, it went well.

Thursday, we had another skype meeting, in the evening, with the whole mission and church leaders. Elder DiniCaci of the Seventy taught us what the new ministry program really means, what we need to be doing as members, and also as missionaries to make this program the most effective it can be. It was a good meeting.

Friday me and Elder Czeisla had a leadership training with all the leadership in the mission. Then we went and helped out at Salvation army. After that went and taught an old man some English. Overall a good and busy day.

Then Saturday we did some sport finding with Orestis which was good. Then we again made the trip out to visit our investigator Telemachus. It went well, I can definitely say we have the true church and that the spirit touches the hearts of the people. Sometimes they just want to ignore it but God calls all of his children!

Sunday was another good day. We had Sakis our other investigator who is really good and really receptive to everything, come early to church. We taught the plan of salvation and it went really well it was cool. Then we also had a whiteboard. It went well wasn't our best but overall it was good.

Today nothing fun happened but overall a really good week!

Transfer Week

Πώς είστε; Ελπίζω ότι όλα είναι καλά επειδή η ζωή είναι όμορφη!

Alright so we will have a short one today lets get starting with last Wednesday. It was an interesting day with the way that flights and everything worked out we had a threesome all day. It was me and Elder Nelson together with Elder Czeisla. Elder Czeisla had a surgery and had a golf ball bandage on his toe and couldn't really walk around. So we had to improvise but we also had a good day! Also I moved across town into my new apartment which was good fun.

Then Thursday we had a good day. We made some cookies and did weekly planning which went well and I got to know the area a bit better. Then that night I did calls for the first time. It actually wasn't anything really excited I just wanted to write something else for Thursday.

Friday we went with the senior couple to a warehouse and helped them out there to sort clothes to send out to refugees. It was cool. That night we were able to go and visit Brother Matrapazees with the other Elders. It was really cool he is a good guy but is really lost. It is good to be able to go and help him out. 

Saturday was an awesome day we in the morning went to the Hospital and got told Elder Czeisla can walk normally again it was good. Then we had a meeting with Brother Todi and the other missionaries it was good. Then after me and Elder Czeisla went out 30 on the bikes from Thess to meet with Telemachus, who is now an investigator, and a cool guy. The bike ride is just super cool.

Sunday was a good day. We went to church. President and Sister Heder came that day it was good. President had typed up a translation for his talk and gave it to the translator. It was good until it stopped working and I had to start to translate with no script. It kinda hurt my brain but it went well. Then in the evening we went out and had a whiteboard with the Sisters it went really well. I handed out a book of Mormon but unfortunately they just gave it back. It was a good Sunday.

Then today I had a really good study out of Mormon chapter 9 which is about how God is a God of miracles. Something cool I found is that the Plan of Salvation is one of those miracles that we have. It is really cool.

Μετεορα!!!

ΓΕΙΑ ΣΑΣ!

So I will start by saying I have a broken keyboard so please forgive me.

We will get going with a week ago Tuesday it was a rough day. We had a meeting with Iakovos which didn't go well. We just decided it would be better if we were just friends. So it is too bad. He is reading the BoM though so we still got that going for us.

Wednesday we stopped by brotther Matrapazees. He had some Gypsies over to his house. It was weird. HJe is a good man trying to help. Then they just made him mad. It was an interesting experience for sure.

The Thursday we had a busy day of meetings. We had lunch with brother Todi before he left for the island. We then headed to brother Matrapazees and had a 2nd lunch. Right after we biked crazy fast and had a lesson with a less active, Maria, it was weird she is really orthodox now. And way to touchy with me but luckily nothing happened and we had a good meeting.

 Frida​y we had a tough day with all the celebrations for Easter going on. So we did a lot of finding with not much  success. That night we got transfer calls. I am going to be moving again only across town to be with Elder Czeisla from Germany. We will be district leaders together I am excited. It should be an adventure.

Saturday was a good day we had a meeting with a less active family, the Ganatsis, it was so awesome we taught the restoration. It was just really cool. They said they are going to start working on getting back to church. Then that night we headed out at 11 at night to  go to the orthodox church and we participated in the Αγιο Φως or holy light for Easter. Which was this Sunday in Greece it was definitely an interesting experience and I definitely know we have got the true church.

Sunday we spent all day at the church and watched conference in Greek. It was good but man they use some big words. Elder Holland gave such a good talk they couldn't even translate half of it haha.

Then yesterday we went to Meteora. It was just really cool I will send some pics. But yeah that is my week. Until next week.

Back in Athens for a small minute!

ΓΕΙΑ ΣΑΣ!!  

Well this week was really awesome I hope you all had great week as well.

So last Tuesday was a good day. We had District Meeting and then we had some bike problems that had to be fixed. Then we went in the evening to visit Brother Matrapazees and ordered some pizza and kind of cheered him up a bit. That night we went to the other Elders Apartment to stay the night so that we could grab a taxi together in the morning.

Wednesday, we got up early and grabbed a taxi to the airport and headed to Athens. Then there we had our interviews with President and Sister Heder. Then we spent the day with Elders Zizzi and Fonseca it was good to see Elder Zizzi again. Oh yeah and I also ordered about 4 gyros that day it was so good - but a little rough - but if you have an Athens gyro you just can't ever go back. 

Thursday we had Zone Conference! It was awesome I will just send a bunch of pictures but my favorite quote from President was "If you aren't happy you need to repent" enough said.

Oh yeah also me and Elder Nelson taught a part in Zone Conference it was on being obedient, but also understanding why we are obedient so that we can really give it our best.

Friday we had a catch up day in Thess. Things just went awesome we helped out at Salvation Army and then we also got to teach a man the plan of salvation on the street (stood us up for return appointment but we are still trying). That was it for Friday it was a good day.

Saturday was a good day we went and had a meal at Brother Todi's house. In the afternoon we had a lesson with our investigator Iakovos which went well. Now we understand how we need to better help him in the gospel. We are just relying on the Book of Mormon so we have got our hopes up really high. That night we were able to go to see the morning session of General Conference and we were part of the Solemn Assembly it was awesome we really do have a prophet today!

Sunday was a normal Sunday other than we had a special Easter dinner at the senior couples. Then we were able to watch the Sunday morning Session of Conference it was awesome to be able to hear from our prophet. Something I really liked that he said we cannot spiritually survive without the companionship of the Holy Ghost it is so awesome!

Today we have just been out and about enjoying the sun and some good food!
